First time i saw this canoe i unwrapped it- paddled it- and was first outright in NSW State Championships Short Course a few years back. It can move let me tell ya!!
The Nalu Supersonic is the result of 15 years continuous development of the sonic line in our portfolio. The sonic started in 2007 and reached now its 5th step of evolution.
The canoe was a very good allrounder since the beginning, but we decided to develop its character more towards more hull speed and efficiency in flat to moderate conditions and add another OC1 model, the SHAKA, for the downwind/surf conditions with more rocker. To offer 2 different, more specific designs is in our opinion necessary for not losing performance by trying to implement to many specifications in one design. All in one would end up as a compromise between hull speed and manoeuvrability. We would like to reach maximum performance and we believe this way we achieve it. So we straightened the rocker profile of the supersonic and trimmed all details for maximum efficiency the design went thru numerous fluid-simulations to find the best possible result.
